EPA Certified Lead Renovator Training

Date: July 13, 2010
Time: 8 AM to 5 PM
Location: Vern Burton Meeting Room 308 E. 4th Street
(Across from the County Courthouse)

The instructor for the class is Cookie Kaufman; both she and RGA Environmental, Inc. have been approved by EPA.

Each company needs at least one person certified and must attend a class that is approved by the EPA. That company also needs to apply to become a Certified Renovator at an additional cost of $350. Companies can apply on line at: http://www.epa.gov/lead/. The application is attached, however, please check the website for more information.

Juan de Fuca ICC Chapter Code Change Class

Date:  June 18, 2010

Time:  8:30 am-12:30 pm

Location:  Sequim Transit Center, City Council Chambers

Cost:$20

The Juan de Fuca ICC Chapter will hold a 4 hour forum to discuss changes that will occur with the adoption of the 2009 IRC Code.  Wall bracing provisions will be covered.  The forum will be lead by Fred Slota, City of Port Townsend, Scott Headrick of Zenovic and Associates and Annie O’Rourke of Drafting Solutions.  For more information click here or call Annie O’Rourke, VP Juan de Fuca ICC Chapter at 417-5615.

NPBA 11th Annual Golf Tournament

Time:  7:30 am registration, 9:00 am shot gun start

Location:  Peninsula Golf Club, 824 South Lindberg Road, Port Angeles

Join the NPBA for “The Golfing Experience of the Year” at our 11th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, August 20 at Peninsula Golf Club, 824 South Lindberg Road in Port Angeles.  Registration begins at 7:30 am with a shotgun start at 9:00 am.  Cost is $90 per player and includes a shared cart, lunch, prizes and drink ticket.  To learn more click here.

2009 IRC/Energy Code Update

CHANGES ARE HERE! GET READY TO COMPLY!

Learn the significant changes from the last edition to the current edition (2009) of the International Residential
Code (IRC) particularly: carbon monoxide alarms, wall bracing requirements, stairway and handrail modification and much more!

This class will also include the recently adopted changes to the Washington Energy Code, such as: additional energy efficiency requirements, increased building envelope stringency, duct placement and air leakage testing and much more!

These changes take effect July 1st, so don’t miss your chance to take advan- tage of this great class at a remarkable price. First Aid/CPR Classes

Refresher Class One Day Only – 4 hours

Refresher class is for those whose First Aid Card has expired within the last 2 months and you have attended an earlier class thru NPBA.

Standard 8-Hour First Aid/CPR Class

Date: April 28 & 29, 2010 6-10 PM
Location: First Baptist Church, 105 W 6th St in Port Angeles

Standard class is for those whose cards have expired over 60 days or if you do not have a card.
